چکیده

Computer interfaces that support user recovery can radically alter a user's interaction style. Users can explore alternatives freely, secure in the knowledge that they can undo actions and restore previous states if necessary. A text-editor, like EMACS, where users can restore the state of an editing session to a correct previous state, is an example of such a system. Editors for textual, graphical, and many other media types commonly support user recovery. Support for and understanding of recovery in applications that use audio is not as widespread. Audio is characterized by its large volume, lack of easy indexing , and diiculty in deening inverse operations. We present a theoretical model of recovery for audio operations that will help user interface designers and implementors. Our model maps an audio operation to a recovery policy and then the recovery policy to a recovery mechanism. The model uses a classiication of audio operations that aids in choosing applicable recovery policies

Proposal for an MGCP Advanced Audio Package

This event package provides support for the standard IVR (Interactive Voice Response) operations of PlayAnnouncement, PlayCollect, and PlayRecord. It supports direct references to simple audio as well as indirect references to simple and complex audio. It provides audio variables, control of audio interruptibility, digit buffer control, special key sequences, and support for reprompting during ...

Gathering a corpus of multimodal computer-mediated meetings

In this paper we describe the gathering of a corpus of synchronised speech and text interaction over the network. The data collection scenarios characterise audio meetings with a significant textual component. Unlike existing meeting corpora, the corpus described in this paper emphasises temporal relationships between speech and text media streams. This is achieved through detailed logging and ...

Cracking Passwords using Keyboard Acoustics and Language Modeling

This project looks at how user input can be reconstructed from an audio recording of a user typing. The keyboard acoustic attack outlined in [35] is fully reimplemented and a number of extensions to their methods are developed. A novel keystroke error function is demonstrated which allows for optimal thresholds to be found when extracting keystrokes and a bagging technique is applied to previou...

A New Single-Display Intelligent Adaptive Interface for Controlling a Group of UAVs

The increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones in different civil and military operations has attracted attention of many researchers and science communities. One of the most notable challenges in this field is supervising and controlling a group or a team of UAVs by a single user. Thereupon, we proposed a new intelligent adaptive interface (IAI) to overcome to this challenge. ...

Interactive Controller for Audio Object Localization and Automatic Thumbnail Music Generator

In this demonstration, we provide a new interactive controller for audio object localization and an automatic thumbnail music generator for an arbitrary stereo mixed source. Those two products are based on the same audio coding framework enabling the extraction and localization operation of audio objects (e.g., vocal, guitar, drums) via the temporal quantization of spatial information [1]. In t...
